Limited heat stress conditions are expected across the western half of the forecast area Thursday, with peak heat index values approaching 105 degrees, according to the U.S. National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi.
People who remain outdoors for an extended period should take breaks and stay hydrated, the weather service said.
