Heat stress conditions expected in western portions of forecast area

Elevated to limited heat stress conditions are expected today across mainly western portions of the forecast area, according to the US National Weather Service in Jackson, Mississippi.

Peak heat index values are expected to range from near 105 to 110 degrees. People who remain outdoors for an extended duration are advised to take breaks and stay hydrated.
