Cold Weather Advisory Issued for Southeast Louisiana and Southern Mississippi

A cold weather advisory is in effect from midnight Monday through 9 a.m. Tuesday, covering parts of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi, according to the National Weather Service.

Forecasters warn of very cold wind chills as low as the upper teens or lower 20s. Prolonged exposure to these conditions could lead to hypothermia.

The advisory urges residents to exercise caution while outdoors, wear appropriate clothing, including hats and gloves, and check on vulnerable neighbors. It also advises proper use of portable heaters and warns against using generators or grills indoors.
