Isolated showers have developed across parts of east and southeast Mississippi, according to the National Weather Service in Jackson. Showers and storms will remain possible through around sunset, while most of the area stays hot and dry.
The weather service described the afternoon as hot across the area in an update issued at 2:35 p.m.
