William Carey baseball reaches NAIA World Series for third time in four years

William Carey University’s baseball team is headed to the NAIA World Series for the third time in four years, William Carey Athletics announced Wednesday on its Facebook page.

The post, which used the team nickname Crusaders, congratulated the players and added, “Mississippi is rooting for you!” The announcement did not include additional details about the schedule or opponents.

William Carey is a private Christian university in Mississippi. Its baseball program competes in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, a governing body that organizes national championships for smaller colleges and universities outside the NCAA structure.

Advancing to the NAIA World Series signifies that a team is among the top programs in NAIA baseball and will compete for the national championship. The World Series brings together qualifying teams from across the country in a postseason tournament to determine the NAIA champion.

Details about game dates, locations and opponents were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
