Teague earns SSAC softball player of the week

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Aspen Teague of Blue Mountain Christian earned SSAC Softball Player of the Week after batting 0.588 and driving in seven runs across four games, the conference announced.

Teague collected 14 total bases, including two triples and two four-hit games, and consistently set the tone for the Toppers’ offense during the stretch. Her performance helped Blue Mountain Christian secure a victory over Bethel of Tennessee and earn a split against No. 25 UT Southern.

The honor is the first weekly conference award of Teague’s career and adds to an already strong season for the Topper first baseman. Head Coach Matt Brunet praised her impact on the team, saying, “Aspen is the ultimate team player and has been clutch for us all season. She’s always willing to do what’s best for the team and has been a leader on offense and defense. I’m very proud of everything she’s accomplished this year,” Brunet said.

The SSAC, the Southern States Athletic Conference, names weekly players to recognize top individual performances during the season. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
