Bryant earns SSAC baseball player of week honor

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Blue Mountain Christian’s Jacob Bryant was named the Southern States Athletic Conference baseball Player of the Week after a three-game conference series against Brewton-Parker Christian, the conference announced.

Bryant recorded six hits in 14 at-bats for a .429 batting average. Five of his six hits went for extra bases, including three home runs, producing a 1.214 slugging percentage and 17 total bases during the series.

His power surge provided a steady offensive presence in the middle of the Toppers lineup and helped fuel Blue Mountain Christian’s attack throughout the weekend.

Head Coach Taylor Clark praised Bryant’s approach. “Jacob had a tremendous weekend for us,” Clark said. “He was locked in at the plate and consistently gave us quality at-bats. When a hitter is seeing the ball that well and driving it the way he did, it energizes the entire lineup. We’re proud of the way he competed and represented our program.”

The SSAC awards weekly honors during the season to recognize top performers in conference play. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
