Teague earns SSAC softball player of week after .588 performance

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — The Southern States Athletic Conference named Blue Mountain Christian first baseman Aspen Teague its Softball Player of the Week after she batted .588 across four games and drove in seven runs to lead the Toppers to a successful week of competition.

Teague compiled 14 total bases, including two triples and two four-hit games. Her production at the plate helped Blue Mountain Christian beat Bethel of Tennessee and earn a split with No. 25 UT Southern, the conference said.

Head coach Matt Brunet praised Teague’s contributions. “Aspen is the ultimate team player and has been clutch for us all season,” Brunet said. “She’s always willing to do what’s best for the team and has been a leader on offense and defense. I’m very proud of everything she’s accomplished this year.”

This is the first weekly conference honor of Teague’s career and adds to an already strong season for the Topper first baseman. The SSAC is a collegiate conference affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
