Ole Miss women’s golf finishes seventh at Cougar Classic

No. 19 Ole Miss finished seventh at the Cougar Classic in Charleston, South Carolina, carding a 6-over-par total at Yeamans Hall Club. The Rebels closed with a 1-over 285 after rounds of 279 and 294 on Monday.

Florida won the team title at 16-under 836, followed by Tennessee at 6-under 846 and Baylor at 5-under 847.

Mary Miller led Ole Miss with a ninth-place finish at 2-under 211. She opened with a 4-under 67 and followed with rounds of 73 and 71 for her second top-10 finish of the season.

Sophie Linder, competing as an individual, tied for 15th at even-par 213 after rounds of 72, 72 and 69. Kajsalotta Svarvar tied for 22nd at 1-over 214 with rounds of 68, 76 and 70.

Svarvar finished 4-under par on par-four holes, second-best in the field. Linder and Miller each played par-five holes at 4-under to tie for sixth in that category.

Matilda Björkman tied for 30th at 3-over, while Lisa Herman tied for 39th at 4-over after a final-round 70. Ebba Lundqvist tied for 77th at 13-over 226.

Ole Miss returns to competition Oct. 5-7 at The Ally at Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Mississippi.
