Ole Miss opened Southeastern Conference play with a 3-0 sweep of Alabama at Foster Auditorium in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Rebels improved to 7-5 overall and 1-0 in the SEC, while Alabama fell to 8-3 and 0-2.
Melia Johnson and Jorda Crook combined for 22 kills and seven blocks. Ole Miss also held Alabama to a minus-.022 hitting percentage, marking the first time the Rebels had held an SEC opponent to a negative hitting percentage since a 2017 win over Mississippi State.

Ole Miss took the opening set 25-17 after building a 15-12 lead and pulling away late. The Rebels then won the second set 25-19 to move ahead 2-0 in the match.
Alabama led 15-9 in the third set, but Ole Miss rallied to tie the score at 19-19. Crook served two aces late, and an Alabama error completed the sweep with a 25-23 third-set victory.
Ole Miss will host Missouri on Friday, Oct. 2, at the Gillom Athletics Performance Center. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT, with the match available on SEC Network Plus.
