Ole Miss soccer hosts Texas in SEC matchup Sunday

Ole Miss soccer will continue Southeastern Conference play Sunday when the Rebels host Texas at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.

Ole Miss is 5-0-0 in matches decided by one goal this season, including four 1-0 victories. The Rebels are 7-0-0 when scoring first and have recorded six shutouts through 11 matches. Six of their seven wins have come by shutout, including all four home victories.

The Rebels are 7-4-0 overall and 0-3-0 in SEC play after losing 4-0 to No. 3 Vanderbilt on Thursday at Ole Miss Soccer Stadium. Vanderbilt held advantages of 16-7 in shots and 7-2 in shots on goal.

Sunday's match is part of Ole Miss' first season under head coach Todd Shulenberger, who was named the program's fourth head coach on Dec. 1, 2025. Shulenberger spent 11 seasons at Washington State, where he compiled a 113-67-34 record and led the Cougars to five NCAA Tournament appearances.

Texas enters with a 5-2-3 overall record and an 0-1-2 SEC mark. The Longhorns lost to Arkansas and then drew Tennessee and Florida in conference play. Texas has outscored opponents 18-9, recorded five shutouts and is led offensively by Amalia Villarreal and Ava McDonald, who have eight points apiece. Goalkeeper Bayliss Flynn has a 0.94 goals-against average, 28 saves and a .757 save percentage.

Ole Miss' 2026 roster includes eight players who followed Shulenberger from Washington State: Audrey Shackelford, Keira Mitchell, Alena Watts, Maizy Kluksdal, Ava Ghoreishi, Becca Skinner, Isabelle Wright and Jenna Studer.
