Mississippi State golf enters Canadian Collegiate Invitational final round in third

Mississippi State men's golf will enter Wednesday's final round of the Canadian Collegiate Invitational in third place after Tuesday's second round in Foot's Bay, Ontario. The Bulldogs are at even par with a 568 total after rounds of 282 and 286.

New Mexico leads the 13-team field at 15 under par with a 553 total, followed by Notre Dame at 9 under and 559. Santa Clara is fourth at 2 over and 570. Mississippi State and Notre Dame are the only programs with at least four players inside the event's top 20.

Freshman Finn Burkholder moved into a tie for ninth place after shooting a 3-under 68. He has a two-round total of 139, or 3 under, after recording four birdies and an eagle. Burkholder is tied for first in the 73-player field in par-3 scoring at 3 under.

Gavin Isbell is tied for 14th at 1 over with a 143 total after a 1-under 70. He recorded four birdies and two eagles, which tied him for the most eagles in the field, and improved 11 places on the leaderboard. Arth Sinha also is tied for 14th at 143 after rounds of 70 and 73.

Bryson Hughes is tied for 17th at 2 over with a 144 total after rounds of 68 and 76. Yago Horno is tied for 47th at 151, or 9 over, while Ben Kelling is 73rd at 167, or 25 over, after rounds of 84 and 83.
