Delta State University’s men’s golf program finished third in the Sam Dunning Invitational at Mossy Oak Golf Course in West Point. The Statesmen posted a three-round team total of 864, even par on the par-72 course.
Delta State recorded 17 birdies in the third round, one fewer than its 18 birdies in the opening round.

Sophomores Gonzalo De Minion and Evans Haynie led the Statesmen, tying for ninth individually with three-round totals of 216, even par. Haynie shot 72 in each of the three rounds.
Linus Utter placed in the top 25 in his collegiate debut, finishing with a three-round total of 220, 4 over par.
Delta State will compete next week in the NCAA Southeast/South Regional Preview at Lake Jovita GCC in Dade City, Florida.
