Mississippi Christian to host Valdosta State in Gulf South Conference match

Mississippi Christian will host Valdosta State at 1 p.m. CT Wednesday at Robert P. Longabaugh Field in Clinton, Mississippi, in a Gulf South Conference women's soccer matchup. Both teams enter with winning records and conference points at stake.

The Lady Choctaws are 3-1-1 overall and 0-0-1 in conference play, while Valdosta State is 2-1-1 overall and 1-0 in the GSC. Mississippi Christian opened the season with 1-0 victories over Emmanuel and Oklahoma Christian, with a 2-2 draw against Union in between.

Valdosta State has scored 10 goals in four matches and recorded 38 shots on goal. Sarah Hudson leads the Blazers with three goals and two assists.

Jaylen Bodry leads Mississippi Christian with nine shots and six shots on goal. Faith Clark, a junior defender, was named the GSC Defensive Player of the Week last week after playing 210 minutes through the team's first three matches and contributing to two shutouts.
