Markow wins Goat Hill title as Southern Miss leads Badger Invitational

John Markow won the Goat Hill Individual Championship on Monday at Pleasant View Golf Course in Middleton, Wisconsin, finishing five strokes ahead of Southern Miss teammate Grayson Davis. Markow shot an eight-under 202 over three rounds, with scores of 66, 65 and 71.

Markow entered the final round with a three-stroke lead over St. Thomas’ Zach Rouleau and held on after a one-over closing round. He recorded 14 birdies and an eagle, led the field on par 5s at five under and on par 4s at four under. Davis finished second at three-under 207, while Rouleau was third at two under.

The victory followed Benjamin Fernandez’s individual title at the JT Poston Invitational. Southern Miss last won consecutive individual titles in 2022, when Ryan Dupuy earned both championships at the White Sands Bahamas Invitational and the Little Rock Invitational.

At the 2026 Badger Invitational, Southern Miss moved into first place after shooting a five-under second round to reach 12 under. Western Kentucky and South Dakota State were tied for second at 10 under, Northern Illinois was fourth at nine under and host Wisconsin was sixth at seven under.

Jake Moffitt led the individual field at nine-under 135, two strokes ahead of Wisconsin’s Joseph Gutierrez and South Dakota’s Cole Witherow. Moffitt shot a four-under 68 in the second round, making five birdies and one bogey.

Benjamin Fernandez was tied for fourth at five-under 139 after a one-under 71. Supakorn Amornchaichan climbed 18 spots into a tie for 21st at one-under 143, while Franco Fernandez was tied for 46th at three-over 147 and Matthew Javier was tied for 57th at four-over 148.

The Badger Invitational concludes Tuesday, Sept. 29.
