Ole Miss men’s golf wins Bryan Bros Collegiate for first title of season

The Ole Miss men’s golf team won the Bryan Bros Collegiate in West Columbia, South Carolina, finishing at 833, or 19 under par, for its first tournament title of the season. Collins Trolio secured the victory by making a par putt on the 18th hole.

Ole Miss entered the final holes tied for first with Liberty and No. 13 Arkansas in a back-and-forth finish. The Rebels ultimately edged Arkansas for the title.

Trolio was Ole Miss’ top individual finisher, tying for second after shooting a 2-under 69 in the final round. His 8-under 54-hole score was a career low.

Eduardo Matarazzo tied for fifth at 6 under after also shooting a final-round 69. His birdie on the 15th hole helped Ole Miss secure the win and marked his highest finish as a Rebel.

Cooper Claycomb shot a 3-under 68 in the final round, using a late run of birdies to help Ole Miss draw even with Liberty. He finished tied for ninth at 4 under, his highest finish at Ole Miss.

Daniel Tolf tied for 30th at 2 under, while Tomas Restrepo tied for 66th at 9 over. Restrepo’s final round included an eagle and two late birdies. Finn Meister, competing as an individual, tied for 42nd at 4 over.

Ole Miss is scheduled to return to competition Oct. 5-6 at the Hamptons Intercollegiate in East Hampton, New York, at Maidstone Club.
