Cuyvers tied for lead as Southern Miss sits second at Tulane Classic
Louise Cuyvers is tied for first after two rounds at TPC Louisiana, while Southern Miss sits second at the Tulane Classic. The Golden Eagles trail Tulane by six strokes and lead Samford by one heading into the final round.
Cuyvers opened with a five-under 67, recording six birdies, including four during a five-hole stretch. The score is tied for the third-lowest single-round score in Southern Miss program history. She added four birdies in the second round, giving her a field-best 10 for the event, and shot a three-over 75.
Liv Romer shot an even-par 72 in the opening round and followed with a one-over 73 after making three birdies. She is tied for fourth. Savannah Van Gaalen is tied for 29th after rounds of 75 and 77.
Chloe Stevenazzi shot 79 and 75 and is tied for 36th, while Morgan Guepet posted 78 and 78 and is tied for 45th. Ava Bates, competing as an individual in her Southern Miss debut, recorded rounds of 83 and 79 and is tied for 60th.
Cuyvers is paired with San Diego State's Amelia Garibaldi for the final round. Southern Miss is scheduled to tee off Wednesday at 8 a.m. in a shotgun start.
