Alex Nordstrom named SSAC Men’s Golfer of the Week

Blue Mountain Christian's Alex Nordstrom was named the Southern States Athletic Conference Men's Golfer of the Week after winning the individual title at the Coastal Georgia Fall Invite in St. Simons Island, Georgia.

Nordstrom finished the three-round event at Sea Palms Golf Resort 12 under par, shooting a 199 on the par-71 course. He improved in each round, opening with a 70 before posting a 65 in the second round and a 64 in the final round.

His performance helped No. 16 Blue Mountain Christian finish runner-up in the 15-team field. The Toppers also placed three golfers among the tournament's top seven individually.

“Alex was outstanding all week,” BMCU head coach Kevin Barefield said. “He stayed patient, trusted his game and continued to get better as the tournament went along. Shooting 65 and 64 in the final two rounds is impressive golf, and I'm proud of the way he competed and helped put our team in a position to have a strong finish.”
