Ole Miss women's golfer Lisa Herman was named the SEC Women's Co-Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. It was the first conference accolade of her career.
The Jenks, Oklahoma, native finished second at the Boilermaker Classic, a career-best result in a field of 93 golfers. It was also Herman's first top-five finish in college.
In her collegiate debut, Herman shot 5-under par and finished runner-up with a pair of 70s. She tied for first in scoring on par fours and par fives, finishing 3 under on each.
Herman recorded 12 birdies during the tournament and added an eagle from the fairway.
Ole Miss will resume tournament play in October at The Ally in West Point, Mississippi.
