The US National Weather Service Memphis Tennessee is urging people to stay weather-aware during Deaf Awareness Week and move to a safe place before thunderstorms arrive.
The safety message warns that anyone who can see lightning is close enough to be struck, even if it is not raining. It promotes the reminder: “See A Flash, Dash Inside!”

The agency also shared a lightning safety video containing American Sign Language and captions.
