Disaster survivor assistance centers open Monday in nine counties
Disaster Survivor Assistance Centers for DR-48-99 will open Monday, May 11, at 8 a.m. in Carroll, Coahoma, Grenada, Holmes, Montgomery, Quitman, Tallahatchie, Tunica and Yalobusha counties, a Facebook post said.
The post said Disaster Recovery Centers in Alcorn, Benton, Lafayette, Leflore, Panola and Yazoo counties remain open.
Disaster survivor assistance centers and recovery centers provide in-person help to people affected by disasters, including guidance on recovering from damage, information about available programs and referrals to additional services. They are commonly used to help survivors complete assistance applications and connect with housing and recovery resources.
The openings give residents additional locations to seek help after the incident covered by DR-48-99. Officials encourage affected residents to check official local or state channels for exact addresses, hours and documentation requirements. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
