Mississippi declares day of mourning for Claiborne County deputy
Mississippi is mourning the death of Claiborne County Sheriff’s Deputy Terrian Bailey, who died while serving the community, according to the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
Gov. Tate Reeves declared a day of mourning in Bailey’s honor and ordered flags across Mississippi to be flown at half-staff. The department said Bailey’s family, loved ones, colleagues and the broader community remain in its thoughts and prayers.
The department said Mississippi will remember Bailey for his selfless service and asked continued prayers for his family and fellow law enforcement officers.
