Vicksburg Police Department seeks officers, investigators

The Vicksburg Police Department is recruiting candidates for multiple law enforcement positions and set a Sept. 3, 2026, application deadline, the department said in a Facebook reel.

The department said it is looking for noncertified officers, certified officers and investigators. It said applicants at the start of a law enforcement career and those with years of experience are welcome to apply.

Applications can be picked up at the Vicksburg Police Department, 820 Veto Street, Vicksburg, Mississippi 39180. For information the department listed the Police Department phone number as 601-636-2511 and the Human Resources Department phone number as 601-631-3710.

All completed applications must be returned to the Human Resources Office at 1415 Walnut Street in Vicksburg by 4 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3, 2026, the announcement said.

The Vicksburg Police Department is the municipal police agency serving the city of Vicksburg. Recruitment affects local public safety staffing and community services. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
