Vicksburg Police Department seeks entry-level officers
The Vicksburg Police Department said in a Facebook post that it is hiring entry-level officers and is making application packets available to prospective applicants.
Packets may be obtained at the Vicksburg Police Department, 820 Veto Street; the City of Vicksburg Human Resource Office, 1415 Walnut Street; or the WIN Job Center at 755 Highway 27 (Hinds Community College, Annex Building), the post said. Packets are available during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
The Vicksburg Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the city of Vicksburg, Mississippi, responsible for public safety, crime prevention and community policing. Recruiting entry-level officers helps sustain departmental staffing and can affect response times, community outreach and local crime prevention efforts.
The department’s announcement encourages residents interested in law enforcement careers to apply and notes an opportunity to “be the change you want to see in your community,” according to the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
