Tupelo police arrested a 23-year-old man April 11 after investigating multiple vehicle burglaries and apparent fraudulent uses of stolen credit cards in the Highland Circle and North Madison Street area, the Tupelo Police Department said.

Officers responded April 11 to several reports from residents who said items were taken from vehicles and that credit cards taken in the burglaries had been used multiple times, police said. Investigators also found items missing from an enclosed building at one of the homes, the department said.

Police arrested Terrell M. Franklin Jr., 23, of Tupelo on April 11 and charged him with one count of burglary of a dwelling, two counts of burglary of an automobile and two counts of credit card fraud, according to the department. Tupelo Municipal Court Judge Allen ordered Franklin held on a $75,000 bond on April 13, police said.

Authorities said a juvenile suspect was also apprehended and that juvenile authorities will handle that case in Lee County Youth Court. The adult case will be presented to the Lee County grand jury, police said. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
