Blue Mountain Christian University senior Lukas Dykes led the Toppers with a 47th-place finish as the team opened its 2026 season Friday at the Foothills Trail Meet hosted by Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.
Competing in a 17-team field, Blue Mountain Christian finished ninth. Dykes posted a time of 16:36.7 to pace the squad, and junior Jonah Barnhardt was the team’s second finisher, taking 66th in 17:08.9.
A pair of freshmen followed for the Toppers: Samuel Aguilar was 78th in 17:32.4 and Layn Burney was 80th in 17:38.9. Senior Erick Flores recorded a personal-best time of 17:51.4 to place 88th, and senior Braxton Enzor was 98th in 18:13.7.
Freshman Jacob Waller finished 102nd in 18:22.6, freshman Austin Ellis was 119th in 19:00.8, and senior Lelan Boulden posted a personal-best 19:13.8 to place 126th. Sophomore John Thomas Draper was 141st in 20:47.8, and freshman Samuel Hutchinson rounded out the Topper scorers in 145th at 21:07.7.
