Star Road is closed between Bethel Road and Mississippi Highway 18 beginning today through Wednesday, April 15, while crews replace multiple culverts, a notice posted on Facebook said.
Motorists are being asked to use the posted detour for the duration of the work. The notice advised caution when the roadway is expected to reopen on Thursday, April 16.
Culverts are structures that carry water beneath roadways and are routinely replaced to prevent erosion, flooding and pavement damage. Replacing multiple culverts can require full road closures to allow crews to work safely and to move heavy equipment.
