Detainee Latoria Sample escapes near Highway 18 and TV Road
Authorities say a detainee identified as Latoria Sample, also known as “Shantercia Donelson,” escaped from a sheriff’s office vehicle while being transported to jail and was last seen near Highway 18 and TV Road in the area of The Woodlands Apartments, the HCSO said.
The HCSO posted the alert on social media and said Sample was last seen wearing a brown jumpsuit. The post included a contact number for anyone with information: 601-352-1521.
Sheriff’s offices commonly issue public alerts when people in custody flee during transport because such incidents can pose a risk to public safety and prompt immediate searches. Law enforcement agencies typically coordinate local searches and ask residents to report sightings rather than approach an escaped detainee.
