Southaven Police Department joins DEA National Drug Takeback April 25
Southaven Police Department will participate in the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Prescription Drug Take Back on Saturday, April 25, 2026, the department said in a Facebook post.
Officers will accept old, expired or unused medications for safe disposal from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 8691 Northwest Drive in Southaven, Mississippi, the post said.
The DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take Back provides a way for residents to remove unused medicines from their homes, which public health officials say can help reduce the risk of accidental poisoning, prescription drug misuse and improper disposal that can harm the environment.
The Southaven Police Department is among hundreds of local law enforcement agencies that typically host collection events in partnership with the DEA. Residents should bring medications in their original containers when possible and follow any guidance from officers at the collection site. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
