VA medical center hosts veterans food pantry in Jackson on April 18

JACKSON — The G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center will host its monthly Veterans Food Pantry on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at its main campus in Jackson.

The drive-thru event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the front entrance of the medical center, and will provide perishable and nonperishable food to veterans experiencing food insecurity, the VA medical center said.

The event is being led by the Center for Development and Civic Engagement, formerly known as Voluntary Service. The center coordinates community and volunteer programs at VA facilities and often organizes outreach designed to increase access to basic needs for veterans.

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs operates medical centers nationwide to provide health care and related services to veterans. Local food pantries and VA-led distributions aim to address gaps in food access by offering readily available supplies and reducing barriers such as transportation and mobility.

More information is available through the G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery VA Medical Center. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
