Southaven police attend Brown Missionary Baptist Church back-to-school bash
Southaven Police Department said Monday in a Facebook post that officers attended Brown Missionary Baptist Church’s annual Back to School Bash to support families preparing for the new school year.
The department thanked the church for the invitation and said the event included free haircuts and school supplies, calling it “a blessing to families in our community.” The post was published on the department’s official Facebook page.
Back-to-school events like this are common ways for congregations and municipal agencies to help low- and moderate-income families obtain basic supplies and services ahead of the academic year. Police participation in community events also aims to strengthen ties between officers and residents through direct engagement outside of law enforcement duties.
