Scott County Sheriff’s Office meets Slater and his father
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that it met Slater and his father, Terry Bynum, this afternoon and thanked them for stopping by.
The office, which is responsible for law enforcement and public safety in its county, frequently uses social media to share community interactions and outreach activities with residents. Agencies like sheriff’s offices often host visitors, meet-and-greets and tours to build relationships and increase transparency between officers and the public.
Officials said such visits are significant because they help foster trust, improve communication and give community members a chance to learn about the agency’s work. Community engagement is a routine part of many local law enforcement strategies aimed at preventing crime and strengthening neighborhood ties.
In its post the agency wrote, “We had a great time this afternoon meeting Slater and his dad Terry Bynum. Thanks so much for coming by and making our day.” We will provide more information as it becomes available.
