Scott County Sheriff’s Office welcomes Slater on Mississippi road trip
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post that it welcomed Slater and his father as they continue a road trip across Mississippi, leaving impressions at law enforcement agencies along the way.
During the visit, the office said staff gave the pair a tour of public areas of the facility and presented Slater with a Scott County Sheriff’s Office SRT shirt, an agency patch and a SWAT patch. The post said Slater also rode in the department’s armored vehicle.
The office said staff were privileged to hear how the journey began and what the pair hope to accomplish before their trip ends. The post said the visit underscored the positive relationships that can form between law enforcement and the communities they serve and included prayers for the pair’s safety as they continue their travels.
The post invited local youth to visit the sheriff’s office to meet the administrative division, deputies and dispatchers and learn more about the department. The post was signed by Sheriff Mike Lee, Chief Deputy Brad Ellis and PIO Joshua Thames.
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency for Scott County, Mississippi. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
