Rankin County Sheriff’s Office thanks Richland after Touch-a-Truck visit

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook thanking the City of Richland for inviting it to the Touch-a-Truck Summer Camp “today,” the office said.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Office is the primary law enforcement agency serving Rankin County, Mississippi, which includes the city of Richland. The agency often posts on social media to share community events, public-safety information and outreach activities.

Touch-a-Truck events are community gatherings that typically allow children and families to see and sometimes climb into vehicles used by police, fire, public works and other agencies. Organizers and participating agencies say these events aim to build relationships with residents and to teach children basic safety information in an informal setting.

The sheriff’s office message underscores ongoing efforts by local law enforcement and municipal governments to engage residents through community programs. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
