Parkinson invites police chief to Ward 7 neighborhood meeting

According to a Facebook post by the Jackson Police Department, City Councilman Kevin Parkinson invited Chief Brackney to give remarks at the Ward 7 Neighborhood Leaders Meeting.

The department posted photographs of the event on its social media page, showing police and neighborhood leaders together. The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency responsible for public safety in the city and regularly engages with community groups.

Neighborhood leaders meetings such as the Ward 7 gathering serve as forums for residents, elected officials and police to exchange information, raise local concerns and discuss public-safety priorities. Appearances by police leadership often aim to build trust, answer questions and outline department initiatives, officials said in the social post.

Details provided in the Facebook post were limited. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
