Jackson police chief outlines crime prevention plan with Ward 5 residents

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Jackson Police Chief Dr. RaShall Brackney outlined a crime prevention plan and heard residents’ concerns Tuesday during a community meeting at Greater Mount Calvary M.B. Church, WJTV reported.

City officials said the meeting brought Ward 5 residents together with police leadership to discuss local safety priorities and steps the department plans to take to address crime. Organizers framed the gathering as part of continued community outreach by the Jackson Police Department.

The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for Mississippi’s capital. Police-community meetings are a common tool for city departments to gather input, explain strategies and build trust between residents and officers.

Officials did not provide detailed elements of the crime prevention plan in the initial report. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
