Jackson police participate in Westside May Day parade
The Jackson Police Department said on its Facebook page that officers and other first responders took part in the Westside Community May Day parade, calling the event “highly enjoyable” and praising the opportunity to connect with residents.
In the post, the department said participating in community events allows first responders to interact with families, children and senior citizens in a positive setting, strengthening relationships beyond routine emergency responses.
Chief Brackney, identified in the post, extended her gratitude to those who helped make the parade safe and enjoyable and said she was pleased to meet members of the community. The department did not provide additional details about attendance or the parade’s route in the post.
Local police agencies often cite community engagement as a key part of public safety strategy, saying that informal contact can build trust and cooperation. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
