Jackson police chief outlines vision at Mayfair neighborhood meeting

According to a post on the Jackson Police Department’s Facebook page, Chief Rashall Brackney attended the Mayfair Neighborhood Association meeting Thursday night at the Jackson Revival Center on Terry Road to discuss the department’s current state and future direction.

Brackney shared her vision for moving the department forward and answered questions from residents, the post said. She also listened to community concerns as part of an ongoing commitment to engagement between police leaders and neighborhood residents.

Residents at the meeting commended Precinct One Captain Abraham Thompson for the work he and his officers are performing in the community, the department said. Precinct captains typically oversee patrol operations and community policing efforts within their areas, and neighborhood associations often provide a forum for residents to raise public safety and quality-of-life issues.

The Jackson Police Department extended special thanks to Pastor Jennifer Beard for hosting the meeting at her facility. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
