Jackson police chief visits Cottage Grove after neighborhood meeting
Jackson Police Chief Brackney attended the Cottage Grove Neighborhood Association meeting Wednesday evening, July 15, and said she listened to residents, took detailed notes and answered questions, the Jackson Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The department said Chief Brackney reviews notes from each community meeting and follows up with the appropriate city department heads — including members of her own department — to address issues raised by residents.
After the meeting, Chief Brackney drove through the Cottage Grove neighborhood to view firsthand some of the concerns discussed at the meeting, the department said. The post said the on-site visit provided context and reinforced her commitment to working collaboratively with city departments and the community to identify solutions and improve communication.
The department posted the account on its official Facebook page. Neighborhood associations like Cottage Grove often serve as a liaison between residents and municipal officials on local issues such as safety, infrastructure and code enforcement. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
