Ocean Springs police landlines down; 911 still operational
The Ocean Springs Police Department said on its Facebook page that its landline telephone service is currently down, but 911 remains fully operational for emergencies.
The notice asked residents to be patient while the department works to restore regular phone service. The department said it appreciates the public’s understanding as technicians address the issue.
Ocean Springs Police Department provides law enforcement, traffic enforcement and emergency response for the city of Ocean Springs in Jackson County, Mississippi. When primary phone lines are unavailable, relying on 911 is critical to ensure timely response for fires, medical emergencies and crimes in progress.
For nonemergency matters, residents should consider using the department’s official social media channels or visiting the police station in person, where possible. The department did not provide a timeline for restoration of its landlines. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
