Mississippi Public Safety offices close July 3 for Independence Day
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety said in a Facebook post that its offices will be closed Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day.
The department said the closure includes all Driver Service Bureaus across the state. Offices will reopen Monday, July 6.
The Mississippi Department of Public Safety oversees driver licensing, vehicle services and other public safety programs for the state. Driver Service Bureaus process license renewals, ID cards and related transactions, so the closure may affect residents needing in-person services before the holiday weekend.
State and local agencies often adjust schedules around federal holidays, which can affect service availability and processing times. Residents who planned to visit a Driver Service Bureau are advised to arrange appointments or complete transactions before the holiday weekend.
We will provide more information as it becomes available.
