Rankin County Sheriff’s offices close Monday for Labor Day

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department said in a Facebook post that its administrative offices will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, in observance of the Labor Day holiday.

The department said the Patrol Division will operate as scheduled throughout the holiday weekend and that administrative offices will reopen Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at 8 a.m.

The Rankin County Sheriff’s Department is the county law enforcement agency responsible for patrol, investigations and a range of administrative services. Temporary closures of administrative offices typically affect in-person services such as records requests, permits and routine appointments but do not suspend emergency response.

The department’s reminder aims to let residents know that law enforcement coverage continues even when administrative functions are closed and to reduce inconvenience for those seeking nonurgent services. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
