TUPELO, Miss. — Jeremy McGee pleaded guilty Aug. 3, 2026, to a charge of trafficking fentanyl and was sentenced to 12 years in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections, the District Attorney’s Office said.
Circuit Court Judge Kelly L. Mims also suspended an additional 28 years on the charge and ordered McGee to complete five years of post‑release supervision following the term of incarceration, the office said. Because McGee was convicted of trafficking, the office said he must serve the 12‑year sentence day‑for‑day without the possibility of parole or early release.
The case was investigated by the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit, a regional law enforcement task force that investigates drug crimes, and was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Megan French on behalf of the state, the release said.
Jason D. Herring, district attorney for the First Circuit Court District, commended agents of the North Mississippi Narcotics Unit for their work removing dangerous narcotics from local streets and protecting residents, the release said.
