Lowndes County deputies graduate from North Mississippi academy

Two deputies from the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office graduated from the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Center in Tupelo, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post. Deputy Hayden Barker and Deputy Seth Kyle completed Basic Class 2026-B-82 as they begin their careers serving Lowndes County residents.

The sheriff’s office said both deputies demonstrated strong academic performance, finishing second and third overall in academics in their class. The post congratulated the new deputies on their accomplishment and welcomed them to the department.

The North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Center provides comprehensive instruction in law enforcement fundamentals, including criminal law, patrol procedures, firearms proficiency, defensive tactics and leadership development to prepare recruits for the responsibilities of policing.

Sheriff Eddie Hawkins and members of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office congratulated Deputies Barker and Kyle and praised their dedication and perseverance. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
