Jackson police investigate Lake Glen Drive homicide

The Jackson Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers responded this morning to a residence in the 600 block of Lake Glen Drive after reports of a domestic disturbance and found a man dead at the front door.

When officers arrived they learned shots had been fired at the residence and that several people were present during the incident, the post said. Officers located the deceased male victim at the front door of the house; the department is withholding his identity pending notification of next of kin.

The department said its Robbery/Homicide Unit, Mobile Crime Unit and the HCSO coroner were called to the scene. Weapons and shell casings were recovered, and several subjects were transported to Jackson Police Department headquarters to be interviewed by homicide detectives.

No arrests have been made, and the department said the case is an active investigation. The post noted this is the ninth homicide of the year. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
