Jackson police investigate double homicide, aggravated assault on Beasley Road
Jackson police are investigating a double homicide and a separate aggravated assault in the 400 block of Beasley Road, the Jackson Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The department said the Robbery-Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. The two homicide victims are black males who have not yet been positively identified, the post said. The aggravated assault victim was transported to a local hospital. The Hinds County coroner and a mobile crime unit were on scene, and police said there is no suspect information at this time.
The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency for Mississippi’s capital and assigns specialized units such as a robbery-homicide team to investigate violent crimes. Hinds County officials typically handle death investigations and work with police on identifying victims and determining causes of death.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities did not provide a timeline for additional details. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
