The Jackson Police Department said in a Facebook post that it is investigating a fatal shooting in the 1000 block of Branch Street and that a suspect is in custody.
The department provided no additional details in the post, and said the investigation is ongoing. Officials did not immediately release the identity of the suspect or any information about the victim.
