Jackson police explore advanced technology with SoundThinking
Chief of Police RaShall Brackney, Ph.D., and members of the Jackson Police Department leadership team met with SoundThinking to explore advanced technology solutions intended to strengthen crime-fighting efforts and enhance public safety across the city, the department said in a Facebook post.
The post said the department aims to leverage innovation, data-driven strategies and strategic partnerships as it pursues tools to combat violent crime, support officers and build a safer Jackson for residents, businesses and visitors.
The Jackson Police Department serves the capital city of Jackson, Mississippi, and has responsibility for local law enforcement and public safety. Many police agencies have in recent years examined new technology options — from data analytics to communications systems — as they seek to improve response times, officer safety and crime prevention.
Details on the meeting, including any planned pilot programs or timelines, were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
