Gulfport Police welcome new dispatcher, officer

The Gulfport Police Department announced it has added two new members, Dispatcher Dimitri Evans and Officer Jason Brogan, the department said on its Facebook page.

The post said the appointments mark the beginning of a new chapter as the two take on responsibilities serving the citizens of Gulfport. Dispatchers typically handle emergency communications and coordinate responses, while patrol officers enforce laws and respond to incidents.

The municipal police department provides public safety, emergency response and community policing for the city. Recruiting new personnel can help maintain staffing levels, support response times and strengthen ties between officers and residents.

The department’s Facebook post said it looks forward to watching the new hires grow and succeed and included the hashtags #GulfportProud, #Welcome and #NewBeginnings. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
