Gov. Reeves says Mississippi continues storm response as flooding recedes
Gov. Tate Reeves said on Facebook that the state of Mississippi is continuing to work with local, state and federal partners to respond to severe storms and major flooding affecting the state.
Reeves said all requests for assistance from impacted counties have been filled. He added that rivers and creeks are slowly receding but that spotty showers and storms remain in the forecast.
The governor warned that central and northern Mississippi face threats of flash flooding and severe weather tomorrow and urged residents to stay weather aware and safe.
As governor, Reeves oversees coordination of disaster response and recovery efforts with local officials and federal agencies when severe weather hits. Mississippi frequently faces damaging storms and flooding during the spring, making rapid response and community preparedness important to limit property damage and protect lives.
